CV4Free
Privacy Policy
Updated August 28, 2026
CV4Free supports anonymous local use by default, with optional accounts for saving selected CVs online. This policy explains what that means in practical terms.
Local CV data
The current builder stores your CV library in your browser's localStorage under the CV4Free site origin.
If you do not sign in and choose Save online for a CV, your CV text, contact details, work history, education, skills, and optional sections are not intentionally sent to a CV4Free backend.
Optional accounts and online saving
If optional accounts are enabled and you sign in, CV4Free uses Firebase Authentication for Google or email/password sign-in.
When you choose Save online for a specific CV, the CV record is stored in Firestore under your user account so you can retrieve it from another device. Signing in does not automatically upload existing local CVs.
CV4Free does not use CV content for ad targeting in the current version.
Photos
If you add a photo, the browser resizes it and stores it as part of the local CV data on your device.
Photos are not uploaded to online CV saving in the current version. A CV opened on another device may not include a photo unless you add one on that device.
Removing a photo from the builder removes it from the saved CV record in that browser storage. Clearing browser data may also remove your local photos and saved local CVs.
PDF generation
PDF export is generated client-side in your browser using the page content already present on your device.
Downloaded PDFs are files you control. CV4Free does not provide cloud backup for them in the current version.
Payments, AI, and analytics
The current public product does not require payment or AI processing.
No analytics vendor is implemented in this version. If analytics or advertising are added later, this policy should be updated before that launch.
Public examples and guides
Examples and guides are public content. Example people and CVs are fictional and are not based on user-submitted CVs.
Limits
Because CVs are stored locally, CV4Free cannot recover a CV if your browser storage is cleared, your device is lost, or another app removes site data.
For online CV copies, you can remove an online copy from My CVs or delete your account. Local CVs remain on your device unless you delete them or clear browser storage.
No website can promise perfect security or permanent availability. Avoid entering information you do not want stored in your browser.
